After 25 years of living in Los Angeles, I am absolutely astounded that it took me this long to make my way to Joshua Tree National Park. Immediately upon entering the park, I felt a sense of ancient nostalgia in a way that I've never felt before.
The giant bulbous rocks stacked upon each other felt like a piece of abstract artwork that nature put together miraculously. The gorgeous orange hue of the desert sand gave a feeling of warmth, and in the middle of January, the weather couldn't have been more beautiful.
We hiked to Barker Dam, which boasted gorgeous water and beautiful landscape.
We learned that Joshua Trees can live up to 100 years and that the park is a rest stop for many different species of birds. For us, it was an absolute artist's dream of a place for shooting and inspiration.
What a breathtaking start to 2018 to have spent a weekend in this gorgeous place, perfectly crafted by mother nature herself.
